During the three-day October expedition to Cherkessia held in 1841 , the Russian army lost about 8,000 soldiers and policemen of the Abkhazian, Mingrelian, Imereti, and Gurian militia killed and died of wounds and fever. Only in the expedition was attended by 9 infantry battalions,2 Cossack regiments Hiking,team scouts,bomb squad,around 3,000 policemen 8 mountain guns and 2 mortars. With the sea squad maintained a squadron in the black sea fleet of 12 kayaks Azov Cossack fleet on each of about 60 Cossacks and 4 boat.
